THE SEEING EYE AND THE HEARING EAR

I needed much encouragement to follow the Lord’s leading in seeking to fellowship with Him because as yet I was weak in faith and was often tormented by doubt. If this close fellowship with God that I was experiencing was available to all of God’s children, why were so few enjoying it? To add to my own doubts, I often had to endure ridicule and condemnation from close friends who suggested that I stay in a more traditional kind of fellowship with God where they said I would not be in danger of being led astray. But once my spirit had tasted of the word of God and had been revived and comforted by His presence, how could I deny His sweet presence and turn back from following Him into this new and wonderful fellowship, even if it meant I must stand alone? Perhaps because of this buffeting and my own inner doubts, the Lord decided to lead me into His woods today and help me to better understand by the Scriptures what was happening to me.

We walked through a pleasant forest and presently came to an opening where a pool of living water was enjoyed by many children. Small children dressed in white were bathing and splashing water all over themselves and with pure delight they watched the water run through their fingers. The Lord walked over to the edge of the pool, put His hand in the water and caused the water to stir. The children recognized Him and waved, eager to share their joy with Him. He smiled to them and waved back. To me the Lord said, "These are the anointed children who honor My Spirit."

We walked on toward a beach where I noticed what I first thought were big mushrooms, but when we came closer I saw that the mushrooms were children sitting on the beach with a towel over their heads. They were so still, as if they were asleep, and looked out over the waters. There was something so dead about them, and when the Lord walked close to them. He was met with no friendly greeting. In fact, they were not even aware that their loving Lord was walking amongst them. Suddenly I saw them stand up in great alarm. A mighty wave from the sea came upon them with great swiftness. There was no time to escape, for their feet and legs were stiff from lack of exercise. In one sweep they were all washed out into the sea. To me the Lord said: "These are the children who quench the Spirit of God, who would rather honor traditions of men. The towels which they use to dry the living water from their bodies are the traditions of men. Therefore, he who does not honor My Spirit who now abides with My children, cannot know Me in truth. But if any of My children receive love of the truth, then will they not be entangled by traditions but will be free to follow Me as the children in the pool.

The pool is My anointing power and the water is the Holy Spirit. The children in the pool are My children who take great delight in obeying Me. See, they are happy when I manifest Myself to them, for they have done what I asked them to do. Have you not read in the Scriptures: "He that loves Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him and will manifest My self to him?" In due time I come to the children of obedience and assure them that their works have been done in Me, just" as you saw Me stir the water in the pool. When you do the will of God, I will surely acknowledge you. Others may scorn and ridicule and even call you a devil, but I will wave to you and recognize that you are indeed in My truth. The great wave that swept over the children are the spirits of iniquity which are to come and sweep over the nations. Those who have rejected My power, for them it shall come upon as a destruction. But unto those who have kept My word, it shall be as a thing of naught, for they shall have power to withstand In that day. Neither shall they be partakers with the spirits of iniquity. But they shall be unto Me a glorious church, a window of heaven through which all men shall see the glory of God."

While the Lord spoke we had walked through the forest and now He stopped, sat down on a stump with me, took my hand and began to open the Scriptures.

"Oh, My child," He began, "how I long to teach My children to honor My Spirit, that they might hear with a hearing ear and see with a seeing eye. Come through the Scriptures with Me and let Me show you the seeing eye and the hearing ear. My disciples were taught about it. How often did I admonish them—Having eyes see ye not? And having ears, hear ye not? (Mark 8:18) And I commanded them — Lift up your eyes and look on the fields for they are white already for harvest. (John 4:55) What harvest and what field was I speaking about? The harvest of evangelism and the field of men’s souls. Even so, they were commanded to lift up their inner eye and see the truth.

Remember how by many parables I taught My disciples the word of God? This was a part of My teaching ministry. Therefore you can expect the Holy Spirit who now dwells in My children to continue My teaching ministry. It is My promise to all My children: "Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth is come. He will guide you into all truth for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak; and He will show you things to come. He shall glorify Me, for He shall receive of Mine and shall show it unto you. All things that the Father hath are Mine, therefore said I that He shall take of Mine and shall show it unto you." John 16:13-16

Yes, the Holy Spirit shall take of Mine, whether My word or My ministries, whether My knowledge about things to come or knowledge about any man; yes, the Holy Spirit shall take all that is Mine and show it to him that is wilting to see. Remember how the Pharisees heard with their ears My parables, yet heard not the truth because their inner ears were not opened. And why were they closed? Because they did not receive the love of the truth. Hear My admonition: "For there is nothing hid which shall not be manifested; neither was anything kept secret, but that it should come abroad. If any man have ears to hear let him hear. Take heed what ye hear, for with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you; and unto you that hear shall more be given." Mark 4:22-24

If you give your ears to the Holy Spirit who has come to guide you into all truth, you will be taught according to your hunger. If you give your eye to the Holy Spirit to be anointed to see the truth. He will take of Mine and show you all things. It is by the anointing of My Spirit that My children shall see. In Revelation I rebuke My church for its lukewarmness and draw their attention to their nakedness and blindness. It is here that I counsel them to have their eyes anointed that they might see. And it was John who saw much truth about the kingdom of God to come, recorded for you in Revelation. You read that the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy (Rev. 19:10), and John both saw and heard in My Spirit. On that day when John was in the spirit and heard a great voice, he says, I turned to see the voice that spoke to me. (Rev. 1:12) John was eager and willing to see as well as hear.

Therefore be not afraid of man, but open your ears to hear and lift up your eyes and see what the Spirit wants to show you. I walk in the midst of My children to do many wonders and to fulfill My word. He who lifts up his eyes to see Me honors Me, and he who honors Me him will My Father honor."

Dear Lord, teach us to give You honor. Open our ears that we might always hear the truth, and anoint our eyes that we might see the many things you want to show us. In Jesus’ name. Amen. (end of vision)
