Could It Be? WWIII ?
The USA, along with NATO forces began bombing Yougslavia (Kosovo & Serbia) in an effort to bring peace. Yeltsin immediately withdrew support for the NATO action and threatened to take military action if necessary. Keep in mind that both WWI and WWII started in this same general area. Unlike the Gulf War, this may drag out and even escalate into a major confrontation. Now we are bombing Belgrade, and thousands of refugees are fleeing the area. Couple that with the low-scale ongoing war we have been waging with Iraq and Bosnia, it would not take much to spark the flame of war predicted in the Bible. There is coming an hour, on a certain day, during a certain month, when war will break loose as never seen before! Read these verses which seem to speak of nuclear war:
Revelation 9:14-19 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. 15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an Hour, and a Day, and a Month, and a Year, for to slay the third part of men. 16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued Fire and Smoke and Brimstone. 18 By these Three was the Third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 19 For Their Power is in their Mouth, and in their Tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had Heads, and with Them They Do Hurt.
Nuclear missiles have smoke coming out of their tails which appear as serpents. The heads, or warheads have the destructive capability to kill a third of all men. Keep in mind that the Overcomers, the Sons of God will never be hurt by this war. We will be protected no matter how scary it sounds. Jesus told us this was coming. Here is what He said.
Matthew 24:3-8 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of Wars and Rumours of Wars: see that Ye be Not Troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. War in Revelation
Revelation 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. (KJV)
Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, (KJV)
Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (KJV)
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. (KJV)
Nuclear Saddam
Even while we are steadily bombing Iraq, they have been reported as building a nuclear reactor which could generate weapons grade plutonium, in a factory west of Bagdad. Iraq claims the factory is making tractors. A top official at the International Atomic Energy Agency said, "If Iraq had access to nuclear material, it could produce a workable nuclear weapon within one year." Recent reports say that Russia and others have signed deals with Iraq to re-arm Saddam’s military. The London Times reported on a secret agreement Syria has made to sell military equipment to Iraq. Under the Damascus agreement, Syrian spare parts for military equipment would be converted for use by the Iraqi Army. Russia and China also recently spoke out against the bombing we are doing on Iraq.
Chinese Nuclear Power
According to the Pentagon, China has about 20 nuclear missiles that can reach America and 300 nuclear weapons that could hit Japan, India or Russia. There is a rumor which just surfaced that China stole the design of the U.S. W-88 miniaturized warhead from the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The smaller the warhead, the farther it can travel. On another note, very soon the People’s Republic of China will be facing a major fresh water shortage. The China Daily quoted the chairman of an environmental subcommittee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference as saying, "The problem of fresh water supplies is likely to be the most important issue of the 21st century."
N Korean Nuclear Threat
The Washington Weekly wrote, "Pennsylvania Rep. Representative Curt Weldon claims that the Central Intelligence Agency has determined that North Korea already has the capacity to launch from its homeland a low-weight warhead that could reach any part of the entire mainland United States… from California eastward to Maine and southward to the Florida keys." The determination was reached after studying the data from North Korea’s August 31 launch of the Taepo Dong 1 missile, north of Japan. The report also said, that although missiles could deliver warheads anywhere in America, they are not very accurate. If that is any consolation? When it comes to Nukes, you don’t have to be that accurate.
Y2K Test Fails at PA Nuclear Plant
The Washington Post reported that a Pennsylvania nuclear power plant ran a Y2K test last month. The Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station supplies electricity to the Philadelphia area. The test was expected to go off without a hitch, "…But when the computer's clock was turned ahead to Jan. 1, 2000…

The monitoring systems all crashed. They provide engineers information about temperature, pressure and water levels in the reactor's core. The problem was an improperly set test clock. The mistake demonstrates a another danger of the Y2K problem: As computer systems which have been repaired are now being tested in live conditions, inadvertent mistakes and undiscovered bugs can bring the machines, and the organizations that rely on them, to a grinding halt." With all the billions of re-written codes to fix the Y2K problem, there will be plenty of errors there to cause system failure.
Anthrax Smuggling Easy
The LA Times reported, William Patrick III, a leading U.S. expert on biological warfare, walked through security at the Rayburn House Office Building, carrying 7 grams of powdered anthrax in a small plastic bottle. He proceeded directly to a hearing about biological terrorism before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and displayed his deadly sample. The biological expert just wanted to prove how easy it would be for a terrorist to use biological weapons, even in high security areas in the U.S. He was quoted as saying, "I've been through all the major airports and security systems of the State Department, the Pentagon, even the CIA [carrying the anthrax], and nobody has stopped me.

Military Hackers
ABC NEWS and CNN reported that the U.S. Department of Defense has told the press that the "Pentagon’s military computer systems are being subjected to ongoing, sophisticated and organized cyber-attacks" probably from Russian computer networks. ABC NEWS said, "And unlike in past attacks by teenage hackers, officials believe the latest series of strikes on defense networks may be a concerted and coordinated effort coming from abroad." Deputy Defense Sec. Hamre was quoted as saying, "This is an ongoing law enforcement and intelligence matter, I cannot emphasize strongly enough the seriousness of the insider threat to our information systems and, through those systems, to the Department’s operations." The report went on to say that the U.S. National Counter-intelligence Center has learned that foreign secret services were regularly penetrating Russian computer networks, and that foreign government hackers may be getting help from within the U.S. government.
Nuke Years Eve Party
Perhaps some of the biggest parties ever planned will take place at the turn of the year 2000. But this party is unlike any other. London Times printed an article entitled, "Senators Seek New Year ‘Party’ to avert Armageddon," Ian Brodie wrote, "Two American senators want experts from the nuclear powers to get together next New Year’s Eve to eliminate any chance of a Y2K computer problem triggering a false missile alert." He said that plan would be to meet with other nuclear powers, including Russia, China, India and Pakistan, at the North American Aerospace Defense Command center in Cheyenne Mountain near Colorado Springs. Although experts believe there will be no problems when the next millennium begins, the idea would be to have representatives from the nuclear powers in the same room during the critical time. U.S. Senator Dodd was quoted as saying, "If something does break down, we've got people there who can monitor it and make quick decisions."

Atom Laser
Associated Press reported that researchers have created a new device called an atom laser by pushing super cold atoms into a laser beam that could be fired in any direction. The scientists said in the journal Science, that the new laser could "revolutionize computer chip making." The report said that the device could be used to build instruments for measuring and navigation 10 times more precise than current optical laser systems.

War On Women
This article was sent over the Internet, written by Drew Horgan,
entitled, The Taliban's War on Women: The government of Afghanistan is waging a war upon
women. Since the Taliban took power in 1996, women have been beaten and stoned in public
for not having the proper attire, even if this means simply not having the mesh covering
in front of their eyes. One woman was beaten to DEATH by an angry mob of fundamentalists
for accidentally exposing her arm while she was driving. Another was stoned to death for
trying to leave the country with a man that was not a relative. Women are not allowed to
work or even go out in public without a male relative; professional women such as
professors, translators, doctors, lawyers, artists and writers have been forced from their
jobs and stuffed into their homes, so that depression is becoming so widespread that it
has reached emergency levels. There is no way in such an extreme Islamic society to know
the suicide rate with certainty, but relief workers are estimating that the suicide rate
among women, who cannot find proper medication and treatment for severe depression and
would rather take their lives than live in such conditions, has increased significantly.
Homes where a woman is present must have their windows painted so that she can never be
seen by outsiders. They must wear silent shoes so that they are never heard. Women live in
fear of their lives for the slightest misbehavior. Because they cannot work, those without
male relatives or husbands are either starving to death or begging on the street, even if
they hold Ph.D.'s. There are almost no medical facilities available for women, and relief
workers, in protest, have mostly left the country, taking medicine and psychologists and
other things necessary to treat the sky-rocketing level of depression among women. At one
of the rare hospitals for women, a reporter found still, nearly lifeless bodies lying
motionless on top of beds, wrapped in their burqua, unwilling to speak, eat, or do
anything, but slowly wasting away. Others have gone mad and were seen crouched in corners,
perpetually rocking or crying, most of them in fear. One doctor is considering, when what
little medication that is left finally runs out, leaving these women in front of the
president's residence as a form of peaceful protest. It is at the point where the term
'human rights violations' has become an understatement. Husbands have the power of life
and death over their women relatives, especially their wives, but an angry mob has just as
much right to stone or beat a woman, often to death, for exposing an inch of flesh or
offending them in the slightest way. David Cornwell has told me that we should not judge
the Afghan people for such treatment because it is a 'cultural thing', but this is not
even true. Women enjoyed relative freedom, to work, dress generally as they wanted, and
drive and appear in public alone until only 1996 -- the rapidity of this transition is the
main reason for the depression and suicide; women who were once educators or doctors or
simply used to basic human freedoms are now severely restricted and treated as sub-human
in the name of right-wing fundamentalist Islam. It is not their tradition or 'culture',
but is alien to them, and it is extreme even
for those cultures where fundamentalism is the rule. Besides, if we could excuse
everything on cultural grounds, then we should not be appalled that the Carthaginians
sacrificed their infant children, that little girls are circumcised in parts of Africa,
that blacks in the deep south in the 1930's were lynched, prohibited from voting, and
forced to submit to unjust Jim Crow laws. Everyone has a right to a tolerable human
existence, even if they are women in a Muslim country in a part of the world that other
cultures do not understand. If we can threaten military force in Kosovo in the name of
human rights for the sake of ethnic Albanians, we can certainly express peaceful outrage
at the oppression, murder and injustice committed against women by the Taliban.

Super Nova
Associated Press reported that scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory searching the skies for potentially dangerous asteroids by accident discovered a supernova in a galaxy reportedly 650 million light-years away. The star was unknown to astronomers prior to the accidental discovery. The supernova, named 1999am, was an explosion that released as much energy as 100 billion suns.

Divine Protection
With all these articles on wars and pestelences, it is important to realize that God’s wrath is for the wicked and that his Sons will be preserved. If they dropped a nuclear bomb right over the head of Jesus, would he be harmed in any way? NO, certainly not. Neither will God’s Sons be hurt in the coming wars predicted in the Bible. We will have divine protection! The Overcomers will not be touched, they will overcome every enemy, even death in the physical body. The Most High God protected all the following, in the face of certain death; David and Goliath, Daniel in the Loins Den, Noah and the Flood, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the Fiery Furnace, Moses and the Red Sea, Jonah and the Whale. He will protect us too! Read these scriptures and keep them in mind when we hear of wars and rumors of wars.
