Back The Truth about Generational Curses By Robert Burgess
(Exod 20:5) "thou shalt not bow down thyself to them nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;` (Num 14:18) "The LORD is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and to the fourth generation."
Early on in our ministry we encountered the problem of the "Curse of the
Bastard," Beloved, if GENERATIONAL CURSES are still enforced upon those who are in Christ Jesus, then so also are the curses of "The bastard," the "Moabites," and others (See Deut 23:2-3 etc.). I, for one, am deeply grateful for the grace of God which bringeth Salvation from the negative principles and the governing influences of evil spirits. THE SOLUTION:
(2Cor 3:3-11) "Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart. 4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God, 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament, not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter killeth but the Spirit giveth life. 7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious." The Promise of the New Testament and It's conditions are clearly Stated in the Old Testament
(Ezek 18:24) " What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? 3 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any to use this proverb in Israel. 4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shaft die.
CHILDREN OF THE RIGHTEOUS ARE SANCTIFIED
(Acts 2:39) "For this promise (of Salvation) is unto you (the Jew first), and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." (Acts 2:17) "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:" (Acts 16:30-31) "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? {31} And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." (Luke 17:26-30) "And as It was in the days of Noe (A Covenant man and His family were saved), so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27 They did cat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot (A Covenant man and His family were saved); they did cat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the son of man is revealed." (Heb 11:7) "By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world," (Pss 103:17) "But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; (Prov 13:22) "A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up the just." (Ezek 37:25) "And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever." (Deut 29:10-15) "Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, {11} Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water: {12} That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day: {13} That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. {14} Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; {15} But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is
(Gen 6:18) But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and their wives, and thy sons wives with thee. (Gen 12:7) And The LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. (Gen 13:15) For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. (Gen 19:12) And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? Son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters , and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: (Gen 21:13) And the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed. (Gen 26:3-5) Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; 4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the sum of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth he blessed, 5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. (Gen 26:24) And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake. GOD REMEMBERS HIS COVENANT WITH OUR FATHERS
(1Kgs 15:3-4) "And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father. 4 Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem. (1Chr 16:15) "Be ye mindful always of His Covenant; the word which he commanded to a THOUSAND GENERATIONS
